Budget 2025 delivered an increase in health spend (up 4.77%). The funding boost for primary care, after hours care, infrastructure and prescriptions for patients is encouraging. However, it is really concerning to see NO new funding for Pharmac’s growing list of medicines.. This is hugely detrimental to the wellbeing of our most vulnerable who continue to die prematurely. Access to treatment for patients with lung cancer is access to life and our brave patients have no time to wait.
